 Coude Echelle Spectrograph - MAESTRO
 MAESTRO (MAtrix Echelle SpecTRograph) is a 3-camera cross-dispersed echelle spectrograph installed at the coude focus (F/36) of the telescope ZEISS-2000. It was designed for stellar spectroscopy with resolutions from 45000 to 190000 in spectral range 3500-10000 ÅÅ. This instrument was put into operation in 1997. Later (in 2003) it had been modernized by implementing mosaic R6 assembled of three echelle gratings with 80.° 5 blaze angle. The mosaic allows to achieve very high resolution of ~500000 with 3d camera.

  • collimator is an off-axis parabolic mirror with diameter of 200 mm and focal length 7100 mm;
  • mosaic R2: built from two 200x250 mm echelle gratings
    with 37.5 gr mm-1 and 63.° 5 blaze angle;
  • mosaic R6: built from three 220x320 mm echelle gratings
    with 37.5 gr mm-1 and 80.° 5 blaze angle;
  • cross-disperser is a 45° crown prism;
  • cameras:
    • camera 1 - folded Schmidt ƒ = 450 mm;
    • camera 2 - Schmidt with outer focus ƒ= 875 mm;
    • camera 3 - Schmidt with outer focus ƒ = 1900 mm;
  • detectors:
  • Wright Instruments CCD, 1242x1152 with 22.5 mk pixel
    Wright Instruments CCD (back-illuminated), 1252x1152 with 22.5 mk pixel
